// GOALS & INITIATIVES
The Currents Center for Recreation and Creativity (CCRC) and its programs will be made possible by a public-private partnership among members of the community, the City of Missoula, and The Converge Foundation.
The Converge Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing private, philanthropic support for the city-owned CCRC facility. Once the City of Missoula secures funding for the construction of the CCRC, The Converge Foundation philanthropy will focus on the goals of:
- Expanding programs and offerings,
- Maximizing the potential of the CCRC’s physical spaces, and
- Ensuring the recreational, creative, and social activities of the CCRC are accessible to and affordable for everyone.
The Converge Foundation developed three strategic initiatives to accomplish its goals:
- Augment the community’s investment to ensure that the physical infrastructure of the CCRC can fully support program goals.
- Ensure programs and spaces are affordable for all participants, transforming how the needs of Missoula residents are met, including historically marginalized communities.
- Direct grants to community organizations and individuals who need assistance to offer programming, thus providing financial support to ensure equity and accessibility for the program providers.
The Converge Foundation formulated a three-year strategic plan to guide the organization’s development. The areas of emphasis included in that plan are:
- Develop marketing and brand awareness.
- Foster partnerships.
- Improve operations.
- Enhance governance.
- Advance fundraising.
